Hello! I’m John Wilson—Pleasure to Meet You!

I kicked off my career as a web and graphic designer in London back in 2011, working for a data center provider before moving on to various design agencies in both London and Liverpool. But let me tell you—my journey to this point has been anything but linear.

Despite my extensive experience in web and graphic design, I’m no stranger to change. In fact, adaptability has been the defining theme of my career.

Rewind to 2001—I began my education in fine and graphic arts before pursuing a BA (Hons) in Architecture in 2004. Fast forward to 2008: I graduated as a Part 1 Architect… just in time for the economic recession (great timing, right?). With job prospects looking bleak, I had to rethink my path.

So, I pivoted and retrained as an IT teacher, working with secondary school students and young adults. Teaching was rewarding—watching students light up while learning was fantastic—but something was missing. My creative itch refused to be ignored, so I made yet another career shift.

While teaching in 2011, I decided to teach myself web design and branding (because why not add another skill to the mix?). I took on freelance projects, and before I knew it, I landed a lead designer and developer role at MigSolv, a data center provider.

During my five years there, I fine-tuned my skills in web, brand, and graphic design, working across both print and digital platforms. Some of my work even made its way into Business Today, EasyJet Magazine, and Data Centers Europe in Monaco—talk about unexpected highlights!

After nearly five years at MigSolv, I transitioned into the fast-paced world of design agencies across London and Liverpool. This experience was invaluable—it exposed me to different creative processes, allowed me to collaborate with diverse designers and developers, and gave me insights into best practices for effective branding and digital solutions.
